Spring has sprung...kind of

It has finally been warm enough to go outside and clean my studio! It was a holy mess! I'd take a pic but I have to reload my camera software first.

I went to my plein air workshop......i had never worked outside with a group before. It was very relaxing. I didn't have an easel , so i just brought colored pencils, a pad and my chair. The hardest thing was choosing a small piece of the landscape to concentrate on....I wanted to include EVERYTHING!....I was the only one who was new at this and the guy heading this whole experience said to me the hardest thing about plein air is to keep it simple...boy was he right!
We all met at the historical Society here in Brick. It's so small you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. There are two houses on the premises, one outhouse, a few sheds and gardens. One of the buildings is where our art show was hung and the other is a historic home that can be toured and the second house is a small gift shop. i drew both houses and the out house. I wasn't terribly happy with my results but i would definately try this again.

Forever

Forever
Small pieces of art can be fun
